Molinu A., Cherubini di Simplicio F., Stanghellini E.
Università degli Studi - Siena, Istituto di Scienze Dermatologiche
Background. A study has been performed to evaluate the moisturizing potential of a product with gamma linolenic acid. The investigation was carried out on two subject groups presenting dry skin which needed moisturizing therapy.
Methods. The first group (20 subjects) was treated with the product containing the active substance while the second group (20 subjects) applied a similar product which did not contain the active substance. The moisturizing potential of the products was evaluated by a Courage-Kazaka coneometer and the values were statistically analyzed.
Results and conclusions. The results proved that the active substance works as an efficient moisturizer, confirmed by the statistical analysis.
