Endovascular repair (EVAR) has become a well accepted and less invasive therapy, compared to open repair, for abdominal aortic aneurysms. However, the introduction of this treatment has also resulted in a new set of complications, namely endoleaks. Uncertainty continues around what is the best mode of imaging, when is treatment necessary and what is the best form of treatment? The following review explores the current understanding of these issues surrounding type II endoleaks following EVAR for abdominal aortic aneurysms.
