Aim. The aim of this paper was to evaluate the accuracy of decisions made by conclusive Duplex scanning for infrainguinal revascularization procedures.
Methods. The study was conducted prospectively during a 12 month period. Fifty patients were potential candidates for an infrainguinal revascularization procedure and were included in the studied. Duplex accuracy as regards the decision making was measured in reference to the actual operation performed and postoperative results.
Results. Excellent agreement (K value=0.84) was estimated between Duplex and the other imaging modalities in the current series. Accuracy of Duplex scanning as regards the decision making was 96%.
Conclusion. A wide range of infrainguinal revascularization procedures could be done based on Duplex scanning when it offers conclusive images.
