The use of micro-organisms in the synthesis of nanoparticles emerges as an eco-friendly and exciting approach. In the present investigation, we report the biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles employing extract of E. coli. Silver nanoparticles were synthesized through the reduction of aqueous Ag+ ion using the cell extract of bacterium E. coli in the bright conditions. Nanoparticles were formed within 45 min of silver ion coming in contact with the cell extract filtrate. An absorption peak at 415 nm in Uv-vis spectrophotometer was detected indicating the presence of Ag nanoparticles. Also the morphology of nanoparticles was observed using transmission electron microscopy and the size of the nanoparticles was determined by dynamic light scattering. This report shows the proteins released of interacell and cell wall are enable to reduce ion Ag. In addition, silver nanoparticles were prepared from silver nitrate and silver sulphate during this investigation.
