Mumoli N., Vitale J., Masi L., Mazzi V.
Department of Internal Medicine, Ospedale Civile Livorno, Livorno, Italy
Cardiac involvement in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) commonly arises from direct tumor thrombus extension into the renal vein, followed by inferior vena cava (IVC) (approximately 4-25% of patients with RCC) and/or the right atrium (approximately 2-10% of patients with RCC). Surgery is the most effective treatment for the management of patients with RCC and involvement of IVC. A case of right RCC with cavo-atrial extension is reported.
