Condylar Hyperplasia is a condition characterised by excessive growth of the mandibular condyle resulting in facial deformity and occlusal disturbance. A retrospective review of the outcomes of patients who presented with a clinical diagnosis of condylar hyperplasia to a single surgeon between 2001 and 2005 was performed. All patients were managed in a similar manner and an algorithm is presented which addresses the key aspects of management, namely, an accurate assessment of condylar activity and the arrest of hyperactivity. The rationale for this pathway is discussed with respect to outcomes of treatment.
