Navarro Vila C., González Otero S., Navarro Cuéllar I.

Department of Maxillofacial Surgery Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón Madrid, Spain

The reconstruction of the upper jaw in maxillofacial oncologic surgery involves, as compared to the mandibular, greater difficulty due to the numerous structures which make up this region, its three-dimensional aspect, and the problems of a functional and esthetic nature. The authors report the various techniques of reconstructive surgery involving the upper jaw examining, in particular, the advantages and disadvantages of each procedure.
