PDF

Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) disease is a very complex process. Surgical intervention in AAAs over 55 mm is an effective way to decrease mortality. However, most of the AAAs identified are small aneurysms without indications for surgery. Medical treatment is the first choice of treatment in small AAAs, needing to identify effective medical therapies and life style changes which could reduce AAAs growth, AAA-related mortality and cardiovascular events as a major priority.
