Achalasia is an esophageal motility disorder with absence of peristalsis and absence or incomplete low esophageal sphincter relaxation. The case of a patient suffering from achalasia after total laryngectomy is reported in order to explain the physiopathological mechanisms which could have caused the occurrence of this complication.
