Brera S., Castellini P.

USL 4 Chiavarese - Divisione di ORL (Primario: Prof. V. Castellini)

PDF

Malignant trichilemmoma is a very rare tumor; it is the malignant transformation of pilomatrixoma (calcifying epithelioma of Malherbe). The most frequent localizations are: the posterior part of neck, the retroauricolar region and the scalp.
Therapy is mainly the surgical removal. A clinical case is described and stress is laid on the rarity of this tumor and of its localization. The retroauricolar approach to the tumor which allowed a good control and removal of the same is underlined.
