Locking compression plate in periprosthetic fractures

Usually, periprosthetic femural fractures osteosynthesis has been realized by plates with metal cerclages at the level of the prosthetic stem, where screw insertion is not possible. The locking compression plate (LCP) system, with angularly stabilized screws, admits monocortical screws specifically cut at their end: these screws, together with the cerclages, can enhance the stability of the implant.
