Role of homocysteine in the retinal vein occlusion

Retinal vein occlusion is a common vascular disease, which can result in serious visual loss or blindness. Retrospective studies have reported hyperhomocysteinemia as a risk factor for retinal vascular diseases. In this study we found that hyperhomocysteinemia may be an unfavorable prognostic factor for retinal vein occlusion.
