Clinical protocols for low-vision children

Cannao M., Goergen E., Martinoli M. C.

Experience on diagnosis, evaluation and rehabilitation of low-vision is already wide, but the necessary methodological coding is still missing. Consequently, transferring the clinical experiences from a working group to another may be very hard: this is an actual impediment to the development of this medical practice. In this paper, three centers for low-vision children illustrate their diagnostic and rehabilitative protocols developed for different ranges of age (0-4 years: Fondazione Hollman; 5-10 years: Istituto Eugenio Medea; 10-18 years: Istituto Davide Chiossone).
