The authors analyze the mechanisms undergoing the traumatic injury of arterial vessels, from an endothelial and a biophysic point of view. The authors point out the macroscopic traumatic mechanisms, connected to physical laws that control elastic wall properties of arterial vessels, and also the microscopic ones related to biochemical response of endothelium. In that way, they offer to the forensic doctors some advices needed for the causal link for the reconstruction between traumatic events and arterial damage, essential informations in every forensic field.
