The role of third molars in determining age of consent

Piscozzi P.

PDF

The study sets out to evaluate the reability of third molar mineralisation phases, based on previous results reported by American and Cuban authors, as a means of ascertaining that the subject is over eighteen years old. Using the mineralisation phases established by Portigliatti Barbos and Robetti, the complete mineralisation of the third molars (phase 12) confirmed the results of earlier research, thereby assigning this particular dental element significant value as a means of solving this judicial problem.
