The changes in the criminal code regarding sexual violence (Law n. 66 of the 15/2/1996) are examined and a critical analysis of its articles, considering technical view points, and the pre-existent legislation is presented. The clinical and laboratory evidence frequently observed in victims of sexual violence is also examined. Stastical analysis of sexual crimes in the Region of Campania (Italy) from 1990-94 is presented.
