An interesting case of fetal death by untied umbilical cord

A case of illicit unassisted child birth with fetal expulsion resulting in death due to umbilical cord hemorrhage is described. Subsequently, the controversies regarding the above mentioned mechanism of death, as well as precipitous child birth causing head trauma to the newborn, without excluding infanticid are examined.
