Aim. Premature ejaculation (PE) is described in 46% of male people. It gives diagnostic, clinical and therapeutic problems. We consider different treatments trying to evaluate the best one.
Methods. This paper compares three types of PE therapy: pharmacology, psychotherapy and combined. The Arizona Sexual Inventory (ASEX) is used to assess the impact of PE in the patients sexual life and to evaluate the therapy progress.
Results. All therapies are effective in treating PE, but the combination therapy is more effective than single drug therapy, which is more effective than psychotherapy alone. Conclusion. PE is a problem felt in our patients. We need to consider it more, but we have the possibility to treat.
