Tendon calcification is an unusual complication of trauma or surgery. Shoulder is the elective site of ossification, causing pain and disability, even requiring invasive treatment, ranging from sonographically guided percutaneous needle aspiration to open acromionplasty, but Achilles tendon too can be affected by ossified tendinitis, occurring in young athletes or in adults, and predisposing to ligament tears. Abnormal stress or trauma of muscle and joint components (hematomas, tendinitis, distorsions), are predisposing risk factors; echography, especially in urgency, can be an excellent diagnostic procedure, rapidly and non invasiveness way.
