We describe 2 personal clinical cases of haemobilia secondary to liver biopsy carried out for the histobioptic definition of chronic HCV hepatitis from which both were suffering. According to the authors, even today the cases are of particular importance because in spite of the improvement in performance of the tecnique this albeit rare complication is the most adverse event for the variability and course of the haemorrhage. Two therapeutic techniques are indispensable on such occasions, selective arteriography and retrograde endoscopic cholangiopancreatography.
