A case of acute anicteric viral hepatitis type A with anomalous course is reported. Its transmission is oral-fecal and common vehicles are contaminated food and drinks. Stress is laid on the increase of viral hepatitis type A since many persons reach the adult age without immunization and the increase of international travels to developing countries. A valid prophylaxis, hygienic and dietetic precautions and a program of active immunization are suggested.
