Behçet ‘s disease is a multisystem inflammatory disorder with recurrent trend, recognizing a pathogenic mechanism of autoimmune diseases. This disease, known since ancient times, is described in 1930 by the ophthalmologist Adamantiades and later,in 1937, by the dermatologist Behçet. The Behçet ‘s disease, rare in children, usually affects the young-adult population. It is more prevalent in the Middle East (equal to 80/100.000) and East Asiatic (equal to 10/100.000) regions; therefore it is known as the disease of the ancient "silk road".
