PDF

Pyemotes Ventricosus is an entomophagous, particularly parasitizes grubs of insects infesting the foodstuffs and the old wooden pieces of forniture. These mites cause, in the human skin, irritating and papular erythematous rash variously distributed over the head, neck, face, abdomen and limbs, especially on the hands and forearms. Malaise, cefalea, anorexia, fever, etc. support sometimes the skin eruptions. The authors present a case of Pyemotes dermatitis in a 62-year-old female housewife.
