Scleromyxedema: a good response to thalidomide

Scleromyxedema is a severe clinical variant of the rare disease papular mucinosis, lichen myxoedematosus. Most patients present with cutaneous and systemic manifestations. Although several treatments have been reported, satisfactory therapies are currently not available. We describe the case of a generalized scleromyxedema, not associated with systemic abnormalities that responded successfully to oral treatment with thalidomide.
