The authors describe one clinical case of a patient, a 44 year-old female, who first came to the dermatological clinic for a lesion that had been present on the right knee for a few years. An excisional biopsy showed epidermal cyst with poromatous degeneration into the cystic wall. The authors think the association with eccrine poroma and epidermal cyst unusual. The literature reports the degeneration of the cystic wall into basal cell epithelioma, squamous cell epithelioma and Bowen’s disease. The lesion level is also infrequent. Poroma is common on the sole or the hands. Eccrine poroma has also been observed in many other areas of the skin such as the neck, chest and nose, very seldom the knees. The authors discuss the cause of this pathological association.
