Hyperkeratosis of the nipple and areola is a rare condition described for the first time by Tauber in 1923, characterized by verrucous thickening and brownish discoloration of the areola and nipples, rarely affecting only the nipple. Levy-Frenkel in 1938 suggested a classification in 3 groups for this dermatosis: 1) verrucous nevus associated forms; 2) forms associated with other dermatosis; 3) nevoid form. A case of a young woman affected by a nevoid hyperkeratosis interesting only the nipples, treated with diatermocoagulation (DTC) without new presentations after a follow-up during four years is described.
