Aortic valve replacement for aortic insufficiency induced by infectious endocarditis in a patient with Osler-Rendu-Weber Syndrome: a case report and literature review

Osler-Rendu-Weber syndrome (O-R-W Syndrome) is an uncommon disease characterized by abnormal telangiectasias and arteriovenous malformations that cause recurrent bleeding. Here, we present the 10th case of O-R-W syndrome underwent cardiac surgery. A 70 year-old woman with O-R-W syndrome was referred to our department for aortic insufficiency induced by infectious endocarditis. She underwent the aortic valve replacement with a bioprosthesis. The postoperative course was satisfactorily. We reviewed ten cases of O-R-W syndrome underwent cardiac surgery in the literature.
