Replacement of the quadricuspid aortic valve: 18 years experience

Among 2473 patients who underwent aortic valve operation in the past 18 years, six patients (0.24%) with quadricuspid aortic valve(QAV) were encountered. All had aortic regurgitation (AR). In accordance with the Hurwitz and Roberts classification, two cases were type a, three cases were type b, and one case was type d. All patients underwent successful aortic valve replacement (AVR), and no complete heart block happened.
