The authors report 11 cases of rare hernias among 1258 cases of hernias treated at the III° Surgical Department of the Casalpusterlengo Hospital during 10 years (1991 - 2000). The hernias were: 4 Spigelian, 2 of the broad ligament, 1 paraduodenal, 1 paracecal, 2 obturatory. 1 lumbar. They represent a rare pathology that should be considered in the differential diagnosis of the intestinal obstructions. A “memento” of rare disease , is a justified reason for presentation of these cases.
