We report a new purse-string technique for off-pump Radiofre-quency ablation of both atria using bipolar probes. Following a standard median sternotomy, an ablation probe is inserted into both atria through the multiple purse-string sutures and lesions are completed. Intraoperative bleeding associated with the insertion of ablation probe can be minimized using purse-string sutures. In conclusion, this technique was safe and effective and should be a treatment of choice as the development of ablation devices progresses.
