Spontaneous dissection of the superficial femoral artery

In the previous literatures concerned with spontaneous dissection of peripheral arteries, spontaneous dissection of femoral artery is a particularly rare condition This report discribes the spontaneous dissection of the superficial femoral artery treated with open endarterectomy successfully. Long segmental open endarterectomy was rarely performed these days, however there may be the cases in which it is the optimal treatment, depending on the patient’s condition.
