Early treatment of ''en Cyrano'' angioma

PDF

''En Cyrano angioma'' is a congenital angioma localized to the nose tip. It is commonly treated with a steroid-based approach followed (at 3 years of age) by surgical treatment of fibrolipomatosis and cartilages compromised by the expanding angioma. With this case report the authors present the very early surgical-sclerosis therapy of ''en Cyrano'' immature angioma. Instead of the traditional therapy, we tried in this case an immediate surgical excision of the tumor followed by local micro infiltrations of sclerosant drug (Atossisclerolo 0,5 %), repeatable after a few months for larger lesions. A careful treatment of superficial tissue minimizes the necrosis risk. Immediate and late aesthetic outcome is brilliant and a correct growth of cartilages is obtained. An early treatment of this disease, with the method that we describe, is easily and successfully feasible. Moreover nasal cartilage distortions due to growth of the angioma are prevented.
