Fournier¹s gangrene is a complicated disease, bearing a high mortality rate, often associated with systemic sepsis. We present 4 cases that came to our observation in a short period of time. From our review of the literature and the clinical course of our patients, we believe in an absolute indication for prompt surgical treatment in combination with specific antibiotic therapy. Moreover, we discuss the diagnostic and prognostic criteria with respect to pathogenesis and possible complications.
