Rupture of an aneurysm of the superficial femoral artery

Misuri D., Leone V., Secci S., Marin E., Fabbrucci P.

PDF

A case of rupture of an isolated aneurysm of the superficial femoral artery is described. This localization is rather rare and the rupture is the more serious complication since it has a high rate of mortality. The clinical diagnosis is confirmed by diagnostic imaging, particularly with Magnetic Resonance Angiography which can replace angiography also in the preoperative study.
