The author reports on entrapment neuropathies, which may manifest in the foot and ankle. With regard to these neuropathies, different forms of compression in a real anatomically represented osteofibrous channel can be distinguished from pseudo-tunnels. In particular, the last definition refers to a chronic compression neuropathy, due to a micro- or a macrotrauma, that occurs outside a osteofibrous tunnel and therefore does not allow to detect a precise site of involvement.
