Video-assist­ed tho­rac­ic sur­gery (­VATS) has prov­en to be extreme­ly use­ful in the diag­no­sis and treat­ment of mul­ti­ple tho­rac­ic prob­lems. We ­used the ­VATS tech­nique to suc­cess­ful­ly ­treat refrac­to­ry per­i­car­dial effu­sions asso­ciat­ed ­with per­i­car­ditis by per­form­ing per­i­car­diec­to­my.
