Aim. The aim of this article was to show that it is possible to obtain an improvement in the clinical picture of a non-healing skin lesion by using heterologous collagen in a spray formulation.
Methods. Eight patients for a total of 9 vascular ulcers of the lower extremities of varying aetiology dating back at least 6 weeks with little or no tendency to cure, were followed up for 2 months. Heterologous collagen in spray form was used and medication was changed every other day.
Results. The spray collagen demonstrated a high cure level.
Conclusions. Handy and easy to use, the spray collagen is effective especially in lesions that present little exudate.
