Immobility, skin risk and multidisciplinarity

Cassino R.

Vulnera, Centro Vulnologico Italiano, Torino

Pressure sores are still a hard problem, not only in terms of care, but especially in terms of prevention and treatment of their complications (infection, sepsis and death). Immobility is an important risk factor and the strategies to approach it must be well known to caregivers. So, the gold standard is obviously multidisciplinarity, a close collaboration among doctors, nurses and therapists of rehabilitation.
