This article presents the interface pressures and stiffness of a reusable “multilayer” bandage. The main objective was to demonstrate that a combination of an inelastic bandage (cotton) and a long stretch bandage provides a multilayer bandage with a stiffness more than 10 mmHg and a pressure from 30 to 40 mmHg recommended for treating a venous ulcer. The measured median resting pressure is 40 mmHg and the static stiffness index is 12.5 mmHg. These data are comparable to the main competitors.
